It is a known fact, that early rehabilitation of bedridden patients reduces hospitalization time and the risk of readmission.

The CE approved rehabilitation robot ROBERT is developed with the aim of providing very early mobilisation of bedridden patients in the function of passive mobilisation exercises, as well as to relieve the stress on healthcare professionals lower back and shoulders when performing the mobilisation exercises.

In the ROBERT Active project, a novel robotics solution for active assisted motion as well as active resistive motion is to be developed.

When successful, the project will deliver a robotic solution with a novel integrated software, offering unprecedented flexibility and possibilities in robot assisted rehabilitation, while maintaining the highest levels of patient safety and compliance with clinical guide lines. The later to be obtained throughout extensive testing in compliance to medical device regulations.
